It seems like latest activities on this project was more than a year ago. Is this project not maintained anymore? What do you recommend we use instead if so?

Modern-normalize, which is also used by tailwind, seems to be a popular choice: https://github.com/sindresorhus/modern-normalize
Another popular alternative seems to be CSS Remedy: https://github.com/jensimmons/cssremedy
