Request: Bring Fullscreen Exclusive back to Windows #4595
Comments
Re-enabling FSE by default is not an option, it breaks too many games. Introducing another user config for the simple reason that Windows sucks here is doable, but a) annoying, b) really fucking stupid that any of this is even an issue, and c) will obviously break alt+tab again and not work with a bunch of D3D9 stuff. |
So your reason to not have it optional is due to technical reasons, or a personal vendetta against Windows? It is not a mere "stupid issue" to have VRR support working again. |
I didn't say I won't reintroduce an option, but this whole issue is frustrating and just a complete waste of everyone's time. DXVK cannot support every use case on Windows due to platform/driver limitations that simply shouldn't exist, and don't exist elsewhere. In general our philosophy is to give everyone a good out-of-the-box experience and not require config options for anything to work, but in this case, again, it's just not possible. |
Much appreciated. Looking forward to you bringing the option back. :) |
Thank you for making it a toggle now. I mean HP2 fps was worse too and alt+tab works with HP2, despite using d3d8to9 and its being run at DX9. |
Or at least allow us to re-enable it via dxvk.conf. Exclusive Fullscreen is required for Gsync to probably work, otherwise it's all stuttery and I'm stuck with v2.5.1. Thank you.
