Bluetooth integration does not work out-of-box on Umbrel Home.

Following error is shown in Bluetooth integration:

hci0 (<mac address redacted>): DBus service not found; docker config may be missing `-v /run/dbus:/run/dbus:ro`: {ex}

Home Assistant 2023.9.3
Home Assistant UI 20230911.0 - latest
Umbrel OS 0.5.4

Just installed this to use some bluetooth temperature sensors, and finding the same problem.

Ok, did some digging around on this.

I SSH'd into my Raspberry Pi 400 running Umbrel and I noticed that

  1. bluetoothctl reports no available controllers
  2. hciconfig reports one controller with BD address AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AA. When I run sudo hfciconfig up hci0, it just gets stuck forever.

Here's what I ran to get it working:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install bluez-firmware
sudo reboot

...and that's all! Bluetooth is working now. bluez-firmware is missing from the default install!
