[Feature Request] Being able to create a application menu- or desktop shortcut? #11867
Comments
How could this be an application feature since it is an OS feature that already exists..? |
@sonninnos I meant Rom not program, and how can I already do that? |
Create a shortcut from the exe and add |
I use Linux, how can I do it with that? |
Not user friendly, a button to create desktop shortcut to launch rom in retroarch will be much better. |
This would be very useful. I was looking for way create a desktop shortcut in my Android phone but I couldn’t find anything like that. |
It could be achieved when this PR is merged, at least it will try to autodetect the core needed to be launched with. |
I'm not talking about core detection, I'm talking about creating desktop shortcuts from the app. For example, in the Android platform, you can make a shortcut of an website from a browser. By default, that shortcut is saved in the android launcher's home screen. Later, when you touch that shortcut, it immediately opens the browser and takes you to that website. I was talking about this type of features as it is related to the topic of this issue. |
As workaround, you can use this application for Linux and Windows to generate shortcuts. |
So that you can right click a Rom and then select "Create A Application Menu Shortcut" and the same thing for desktop shortcuts.
