Can't use github to login?

when trying to either register or login on luarocks using github, it gives a 500 internal server error

I just tried it and couldn't reproduce. Did you used to log in with github before and it worked, or was it the first time?

both trying to login or register ends up like this:

I am having the same problem and keep hitting the same error message as @elpeleq42. Wild shot, but maybe the error is caused by trying to login before actually registering?
