Is there a way to view several workspaces at once?

For example Awesome WM have this:

Mod4 + Control + 1-9
Toggle tag view.

So that I can have apps A and B on workspace 1, app C on workspace 2, and when I toggle both W1 & W2, I will see all three apps (A, B & C) on the screen.

No, this is not currently possible. How would you display both workspaces at once? How would you tile all three apps? The closest thing we have to showing several workspaces at once is to have multiple monitors.

Using the layout of the primary workspace, just add to it apps from a secondary one with respect to the floating state of the apps, of course.
